Away from the microscope

Away from the scourge of censorship

Explain to us how an iron will dissolves in the face of hammer blows

And how the sun protects itself from heart attacks

And how gardenias bloom on walls that breathe crushed concrete

Away from the guardians of virtue

Steer clear of the words that sever umbilical cords

Rouse them from their slumber with mosquito spray or something harsher

Knead them with the music that frees roads from their darkness

Let them expel all the sighs suppressed within them

Load them with the freedom that shakes the firmness of iron fists

And train them

To box with sandbags

To crush Siberian ice

To strain their vocal chords

To pull tight the belt round the waist of the wind

Steer clear of the words that smell the corpse of nothingness

Words that don’t rely on support from any god

And let them build and destroy the world you will not see

The consequences will not be as great as you imagine

There is no longer a marked difference between right and wrong.

Lontano dal flagello della censura

Spiegateci come fa una volontà di ferro a dissolversi di fronte ai colpi di martello

E come il sole si protegge dagli attacchi di cuore

E come le gardenie fioriscono su muri che respirano cemento tritato

Lontano dai guardiani della virtù

State alla larga dalle parole che recidono i cordoni ombelicali

Svegliateli dal loro sonno con uno spray per zanzare o con qualcosa di più duro.

Impastateli con la musica che libera le strade dalla loro oscurità

Lasciate che espellano tutti i sospiri repressi dentro di loro

Caricateli con la libertà che scuote la fermezza dei pugni di ferro

E addestrateli

A fare pugilato con i sacchi di sabbia

A schiacciare il ghiaccio siberiano

A sforzare le loro corde vocali

A stringere la cintura intorno alla vita del vento

A evitare le parole che odorano del cadavere del nulla.

Le parole che non si affidano al sostegno di alcun dio

E lasciate che costruiscano e distruggano il mondo che non vedrete.

Le conseguenze non saranno così grandi come immaginate

Non c'è più una differenza marcata tra giusto e sbagliato.
